In short, Health and Wellness Coaching is an interpersonal method of effecting enhancements in your life through talk therapy and goal attainment. Some of these improvements can include simple changes like eating better, exercising more, or even sleeping better.


Health coaching is a partnership between the coach and the client. This is different from the traditional ‘expert model’, where someone tells you what to do and what not to do, and provides you with all the answers.

Motivational Interviewing involves asking open-ended questions to unearth the real reasons you want changes in your life to occur.

"Why do you think this is important to you?" vs "Do you think being active is important to you?"

The first question aims to promote an honest and reflective view on why people do what they do, while the second is a rhetorical question that in theory, everyone will say "Yes" to but not necessarily achieve.


Motivational Interviewing has been proven to produce more successful changes in a person, as compared to the conventional, instructional method of repeating the things you should be doing.


In addition, T.W.O. adopts Positive Psychology that focus on factors that contribute the best and most to a fulfilling lifestyle. Quality of life, happiness, and well-being are just some of these end-goals that a future self can focus on, rather than what has happened in the past. That is traditional psychology's aim: examine disorders in a person and analyses what's wrong and offer a diagnosis.
